SS-INTROSPECT #5 : GENTLE BEHAVIOR

As we take the time to build our body, our temple, our gift from God, we begin to notice things. It starts small and below the surface. We wake up feeling sore early in the morning, but something about this soreness gives us a sense of accomplishment. We walk around with a new pep in our step that wasn't there before. Things like our self-esteem, self-image, and confidence all seem to enhance. Then as the body starts changing, people start noticing. Your favorite coworker leans over in a meeting and whispers "You’re getting slim". Your wife grabs your arm while you're ironing and says, "Baby, you're looking strong." The feelings of our own and others become addicting, and we begin a new journey of self-discovery. But before any of this, what are the usual behaviors we go through?

Most of us start with just a random thought. That thought begins to build as we contemplate getting healthy and fit. This could last for as long as 6 to 8 months. Back and forth we scroll through workouts on our timelines, sending them to friends and family. Right at about 60 days before we take the big step, we become clear and begin preparation to incorporate. We start researching when and where it would fit our schedule best. Then BOOM, we begin. Being reasonable, we train about every other day. A day to train and a day to rest. 6 consistent months of this results in solid changes to our body and our lifestyle. At right about the six month mark, some people may relapse. I'm not sure if it comes from becoming complacent or boredom, but they stop or fall off. But the strong always survive! They climb right back up to their every other day or everyday regiment. From there, it’s all about maintenance. Maintenance is defined as adding fresh activities and showing up on time. They become better and better and learn themselves in a manner that they never thought they would.

So now knowing the process, be gentle with yourself. Be patient from start to habitual. Remember the name of the game is consistency and persistence. You must consistently stay fit-minded. You must persistently build the body into the place you see it as most dynamic. The harder you work, the better the results. But always know your limits and respect those limits. Strive for your own personal greatness.

-Be patient with yourself, small steps are still forward.

-Remain fit minded in and out the gym.

Persist constantly to a better you.
