SS-INTROSPECT #8 : 24 = 4
Everybody has the same 24 . They base their lives around it, on it goes and on they go. The game is set up pretty crazy. The game of life I mean. We claim 8 for work. We claim 8 for rest. So we feel we have balance. 1/3 to provide and 1/3 to recover. That leaves us with a 1/3 to play. But what if I told you, you only have four. Not just four as an adult but four since you conceptualize time . Don't believe me? Let's take a closer look.....
Short and sweet is how I like my truth. Some would call it simple, I call it honest. Let's start with 24. A good night's rest to recover is eight hours. We all may not get it but we have heard it repeatedly throughout existence. If we accept that truth we're down to 16. An average job affording a car, home, food, gas, and car insurance usually requires 8 hours of work. 2024’ has allowed us a few cheat codes . Some people do contract work such as uber or lyft. Others have found income in ecommerce, forex, or "views" aka streams. But for the average citizen to sustain the basics above most jobs want an 8 hour obligation. So we’re down to 8. Now what if i told you that it takes 30 mins. to drive to your job. 30 mins. to get dressed. Some may take a little longer to " beat " their face or oil their beard. Others may drive a little further or catch a couple extra trains. But from Dress to arrival and then from departure to unwind an hour for each is reasonable. That leaves us with 6. Hungry? Will-power low? Need to do laundry? What about preparing food or getting your kids organized? Your dogs needs attention? How about engaging in intimacy with your partner or friend with benefits? I could go on and on, but those things take time too. After eight hours of building someone else's dream you have to detach and just be an organic human. Upholding daily obligations and responsibilities in a relaxed manner has to take two of those hours. Even if it's just catching up on your favorite show or going to the kid's practice. That bring us down to 4. Out of a 5 day work week of maintaining. You are left with 4 hours daily to grow. 4 hours daily to build a better mind body connection with self.
Here is an easy blueprint to chip away at the evolution of a healthier stronger you. Here is a way to optimize those four hours in peace, while still having the two day weekend to recover and enjoy spontaneity. Spend your first 30 mins traveling to the closest gym possible. Can't Travel? Spend 30 mins creating your space into gym space. Even if it's just open floor space to move the body. Train for one hour. Spend the next 30 mins. traveling or reorganizing the space. The next 30 mins. can be used to set up for reading or writing. Spend 50 mins. reading and writing something that fills your body with "light". The same "light" you felt as a kid when the doors opened for recess. Right at the end take 1 min. to pray and affirm to yourself what you did aided in your growth. The other 9 should be spent in a brief meditation to let the growth settle within you. The same way you let fresh baked cookies settle on the stove. Take the last 30 mins, to rest and get back to regular scheduled programming.
If you only get four don't waste it on useless objects. Take time to instill the discipline necessary to fill yourself with growth. Heal yourself inside and out by taking action toward your evolution. Your off-day will mean more to you knowing each time it’s a new and better model of self stepping into a fresh day.
