You have to eat to stay alive. That's obvious right? No food means you'll grow weak. The final stage is passing away. If you eat, god grants you another day. But what meals aid in your quality of life? What foods determine you look good, feel good, and move like you should. Lets take it pass science, take it wayyyy back. Speaking biblically whole foods has always been the answer. But what are whole foods? 

I know what you're thinking. Aren't all foods whole when purchased brand new. Nobody sells half a burger or a pizza with only four slices. You may be right but whole foods are a little bit different. Whole foods are truly seen as any food with a seed in it. Fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, and grains are always seen as a whole food. I would say organically grown by god with zero additives. But that's a conversation for another time. Certain whole foods have been known to have medical benefits as well. For example, orange citrus fruits have been known to reduce risk for disease. Dark green leafy veggies and deep yellow and orange veggies help prevent disease as well. Are you noticing a trend based in vibrant colors? They can be game changers. Every plate should be half fruits or veggies. No matter the meal.

Let's take a look at some specifics for quality fuel. When we think veggies, 3 to 4.5 pounds of veggies a day is ideal. Where you fall depends on your lifestyle and body goals. 1.5 to 2 pounds of fruit daily also applies to a healthy diet. When consuming whole grain such as bread, rice, etc. Aim for the most unrefined on the market. Refining is the process of food that gives you things like white rice and white bread. Honestly a form of destruction to the body. Whole grains give you Vitamin B which is great for the nervous system. That means quicker reflexes for an athlete and for our office chair chiefs efficient decision making. Nuts are also a key source of fats. Yes, I said it FATS. Fat. Fat. Fat. Fat. LOL. Fats are good for you. They are best unsaturated for heart health and energy. Don't complicate where to find them because nuts are probably the most accessible source. Omega 3 me babbbbbby. Also , if you need to lower cholesterol nuts have your back. Need to remove hunger to stick to your diet. They gotcha again.

As we look into plans and processes to replace medication, whole foods will be key. They will be the foundation to go from surviving to living a quality life. But we have to remember, we are human. We already have unhealthy habits built up. Piece by piece we must remove them, to build a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
