SS-FRAMEWORK PHYSIQUE #19 FASTPASS.

Fasting . We all are familiar with the term. A child may hear you use the term “fasting” and think “of course I’m the fastest in my class” lol. That requires an educational moment, not found in schools lol. An adult may hear fasting and think “Sounds good but these hot wings right hereeeeee” lol. The replies are endless but the health benefits are far from taboo. What if I told you it was common for humans in the past to fast. What if I told you it could aid in cutting down medical cost and even eliminate some health issues. Well let’s have a quick story time. Direct from my own experience not from a researcher in some college who won’t take deep breath, let alone skip a meal. Let’s get down to the niddy Griddy of my own direct experience.

The longest fast I did up-to-date was 8 days.  5 of those days were a combination of mental and physical. I ate absolutely nothing . Meditated and didn’t watch, read, or listen to anything. Just sat still and stayed present as possible in the moment. I was in a pretty confined space , the day cab of a 98 Toyota Tacoma. When you’re 6’4 that’s pretty tight. I had no ac or heat so I was exposed to the elements as well.  As low as 40 degrees probably as high as 65. This was top 5 of the biggest challenges of my life. But two huge things amounted from this experience. One…. A new found belief in my discipline and focus. It pushed me daily almost to the point of breaking. But I never broke. The days didn’t get easier but I became stronger. Two…..it made me see the world in the different light.  Who I was when I started was not who I was when it ended. Neither was my view of the individuals around me.  On the physical side, I had a profound bodily experience . Certain areas of joint pain subsided on their own. A dull pain I had for years on my left side disappeared completely. To me the combination of these things were a total transformation. Now let’s be clear. I did have preparation for this experience. I recommend you do as well. I went 22 days of only eating organic fruits and veggies and 100% whole wheat bread and nuts. I probably had two to 5 hot  meals throughout those 22 days. But they were all pescatarian based. I also drank water throughout my fast but only one gallon.(drink freely)

Fasting has become an essential part of my life. I recommend it to you the reader and anyone else. I think energy spent constantly digesting becomes redirected in the body for organic healing. If we follow “his”story it was a large piece of time , we didn’t have doctors or modern medicine. How do you think we healed from animal bites or huge falls? The hunter gathers intermittently fasted daily because they were on the move hunting game and had no time for anything else. I believe fasting can lead to a sharper  mind, more focus, and deeper belief in personal capabilities. But don’t take my word for it, give it a try. What do you have to lose? We only live once right and that wing joint aint closin’ no time soon. Email me and tell me about your experience. I’d love to hear and highlight you.
