Click. Click. Snap. Like. Our lives defined by the screens. Our communication scripted. We feast on past laughter and future smiles. Single handed grabs of flesh throughout the night. Bellies full of flesh throughout the morning. Every moment, every motion based in sustaining our comfortability. Sometimes at the cost of others peace. But, regardless we continue. Even while knowing our own facades are forever fleeting. The dream sometimes seems sweeter than the reality. We indulge in these habits so long , we turn to them in times of need. We treat them like an answer to reality. But what if things alter? What if they change into something less flattering?  What if our dream shatters and truth is all that is left. How do we then find the same joy ?

Well it starts with accepting where we are. Not looking back at where we were and wishing we could do something different. Refraining from looking up to future plans still based in past dreams. More so now we have to adjust to what Is. A fraud would continue beating a dead horse for the same comforts and challenges. An authentic entity would adjust and dwell in the present. Build from where they are. Accept the alterations to their journey . The thing about the present is, it’s just what it sounds like a “present”. A gift from God that is not promised at any given moment. A gift from god with unlimited possibilities , but only one is aligned with his truth and genuine growth. The growth you , me, or anyone else’s deserves. No fear of failure because that’s part of it. No joy that puts you in a laze (lazy ). A balance of give and take between you and God. Yes you may make mistakes. Yes you may not feel the love externally. But you control, what you can control. Discover the love internally. How can you grow in the present today ? Taking advantage of as many opportunities as you can physically and spiritually. Sometimes that requires actions and inaction. But never revert back to your past title. Instead embody your new truths and stand by them. Don’t taint your consistency built in facts with illusions. This will allow you to be your own truth for however long god gives you the present season. Instead of being someone else’s speculation.
