Creating from the ground up can mean many things. For the farmer it means taking a seed from soil to fruit.  For the mother it means taking her seed from belly to businessman . No matter the chosen element of growth, everything starts with the ground and ends with the ground.  So it’s not a bad idea to look at training in that method as well.  Most gym enthusiast start their journey at the wrist , shoulders , and abs. But why not start your at the ankle , calves, and ass.   Your environment is structured to keep the arms , elbows, hands, and wrist fluid and mobile. We are in the red eye/slouched shoulder era. Technology doesn’t require much physicality outside button memorization pressing and short term wrist deployment . But what do we hear the most from our elders. Grandpa’s bad back is killing him. Grandma’s bad hips have her in bed again today. We see them stooped over, head down, very similar to our youth as they look into their handheld bitten fruit box . So wouldn’t it serve us best to learn from our elders mistakes? Start each workout with mobilizing your ankles, hips, glutes, and knees. To do so you will automatically engage your core and lower back. Things such as dynamic stretches and core stability exercises are an easy and fluid starting point.  To promote ease make sure you think of these muscles as you go through the movement. Attach breath to each one.  Nothing on this planet moves without oxygen. The best things from fish to fire grow when O2 is in abundance. You should treat yourself no different.   The ankle, knee, and hip are all connected.  If one falters it shifts the body off balance and causes problems with all the rest.  The same can be said if rebuilding one of these pivotal pieces is the focus. Your direct blessing will be a fixed knee or full functional ankle. Your indirect blessing will be a tighter core, better balance and stability.  A total win for your longevity .  So just like you don’t climb Mount Everest from the peak to the base. Don’t conquer mount “Uself”(Yourself) that way either.  Build from the bottom up and get it out the mud like we do everything else.
